More gun shots in America.... Maybe it's time for the presidential candidates to talk about gun controls??? 说起death和电影,最近又看了一部不错的: ![]() Le Scaphandre et le papillon (the Diving Bell and the Butterfly) It's real story about Jean Dominique-Bauby, a former editor of Elle magazine who wrote a memoir by blinking one eye-lid after suffering a stroke and fell into locked-in syndrome, unable to move or speak. The diving-bell is his body that he is unable to control, the butterfly is his imagination that frees his mind from his body. Surprisingly, the film is neither melancholy nor gospel-ish uplifting. A major part of the movie is filmed in a objective view, as if we were Jean Do. Hence we could suffer from his fear when the doctor stitched his other eye that he is unable to control to prevent infection, we could laugh with his dry humor and his ultra-active libido, we could feel the sorrow when he was watching his children play at the beach during father's day but unable to speak to them or run his hand through their hair. The two scenes with his father is probably the most touching parts of the film, and the abrupt ending with the publication of the memoir and his death shortly afterwards leave you hanging out there don't know what to make out of the movie, while secretly decide to make the most of your life while you can. 周末攀岩的时候跟一个英国人聊起我的identity, 最后结论我是有壳的鸡蛋,yellow on the shell, white in the middle and yellow at the core。 I hope not. |
